Jamie’s Italian (Jamie Oliver’s Restaurant Review)

A couple of weeks ago I decided to try out Jamie’s Italian Restaurant in Birmingham. There are about 30 Jamie’s Italians in the UK, all aiming to provide excellent food and a friendly ‘Italian neighbourhood’ atmosphere.

We decided to just have a couple of starters to share, and chose the Italian Bread Selection, which consisted of Rosemary Focaccia, sourdough, crispy ‘music bread’, ciabatta and tortano – all served with extra virgin olive oil. The presentation was great (really fun to share) and the bread tasted fresh and amazing!

We also tried the Meat Antipasti Plank, which had an array of meats and cheese: fennel salami, pistachio mortadella, prosciutto & schiacciata piccante, Buffalo mozzarella with chilli & mint, pecorino & chilli jam. It also included green chillies, best green olives, Gaeta olives & caper berries. It was delicious!

The rest of the menu looks great, and I really can’t wait to go back there to sample food from the main and dessert menus. The service was excellent and the presentation was fun and unique! I’d really recommend this place as a fun restaurant with good-quality, affordable food.
