Review: CAU, Amsterdam

Last year I visited Amsterdam for one week, mostly in search of exciting new foods and restaurants. CAU is located very centrally – just off the main square. From the outside it looks cold and uninteresting in comparison to the more quirky, cosy-looking venues in Amsterdam. However, the menu was fantastic, the food was perfectly cooked, service was fabulous and the prices weren’t bad either.

To start, I had Grilled Gambas (grilled prawns with aioli), which were flawlessly cooked and really tasty (€9.95).

For the main course, I had medium rib-eye steak with peppercorn sauce (the 225g portion cost €16.50).

It really did taste as good as it looked, and I’d certainly go back there.
